The first highlight featured in the Bin Weevils March Highlights post is the Spring Shop. This event does fit in with the current season (Spring), however I already have the majority of items featured. I'd rather we had new Nest Items, even if they AREN'T Spring-themed. I mean, I know it's okay to keep last years items, but why not release some more? However, this is only the beginning of March 2016, so I'm not saying no new items will arrive.
The annual Dosh's Palace Easter Makeover competition is the second highlight to be featured in the blog post this month. I find this competition very creative, and I myself am considering entering. (I entered the Christmas design competition in December 2015)
Hunt's Mystery Egg is a new feature, however, it is on the blog. This is similar to those "Choose Your Own Path" Bin Weevils books we used to get, however you have to vote for the next path, which will probably be revealed next week. I don't understand why they included "WATCH IT HATCH" in the image, though, as reading isn't watching... unless they plan to include a video, mouse roll over or gif image in future parts of the story.
The Great Egg Hunt, third in the line-up of Bin Weevils March highlights, is due to start late March. This is just an event we have seen before, unless they somehow recreate it. Perhaps we could have the eggs to move locations every time you login? Have the eggs on the blog instead? New prizes (other than what we have seen in this event before)? But probably not... the only thing I'd say we'll get new, IF we get it, is an Easter themed Super Antenna and/or Legs... without gems, most likely. But any of that probably won't happen, and we'll most likely just see the same event recycled exactly the same as we have seen it in the past.
Fourth in the run for this month on Bin Weevils, is... Spring teams. This is another one of those events where you sign up by entering your Bin Weevils username and the team with the most users that have joined them wins. There is also several flash mobs usually involved with these, which I am beginning to find pointless. Seriously speaking, if I was to host a 50/50 team option event, I would host an in-game party and have two sides (In this case, team bunnies or team birdies). You could then unlock special games for that team, which for fair reasons would be the same games for each team with a different background/colouring and "logo" (bunny or bird). Also, this way there would be no unfair parties... by this, I mean where you "have" to change your look to receive just a Nest Invite to a team member's nest. You couldn't switch teams this way, which I don't think you can do on the blog anyway, and only you could join. No one else could try to register your username onto a team you don't want, several times, as you would have to login to join. I wonder with this new blog, could you be required to login to join a team, hmm? I doubt it, but that would be a slight improvement.
This is the fifth event for this month on Bin Weevils... it's a Lego Easter Egg Hunt. I quite frankly don't see the point in this. You can 'earn' a Nest Item by going inside the Lego Egg outside Rum's Airport and clicking a button, watch a video about Lego, enter to win 20,000 Mulch and look for Lego Easter Eggs around the Binscape. I personally believe there is no point in this, not because it's an advert (Bin Weevils need these for money), but because you can hardly do anything. Once you've entered the competition, found the eggs, and watched the video, believe me, you've done it all. I think the promotion, although it's aimed for girls, Lego Friends, outside the Shopping Mall, is a much better example, as the games, although Lego branded, are addictive and make you (or at least me) want to keep coming back to play them. Take the archery one at Lego Friends for example, it's quite clear they took it from the Brave Bones Club promotion a few months back and re-designed the branding to Lego Friends, but I loved that game, so it's good to see it 'return' in a way. Having leader boards at the Lego Friends area is a good idea, also, as it makes you want to keep coming back so you can try to get to the top spot on the top 100 or buddy scores.
Zootropolis is the sixth event in the highlights, and the event doesn't start in the Binscape until 7th March, so I can't really comment on it at the moment, but I will say this - just expect this promotion to hold the usual film trailer, 10 or 20,000 Mulch competition, and cheap pairs game or something, as most of the promotions do. Some promotions aren't worth even having, but some are - like the previous Clarks Adventure Camp, Brave Bones Club, and current Lego Friends area. Those three mentioned are like bonus virtual worlds to me, which I see as a good thing to have in a game.
